AJ Vacancy by http://albuquerquejobz.blogspot.com Buyer/Planner (Somerset, PA) 16 Jun 2011, 10:50 am Responsible for procuring and planning production and purchased finished good materials to ensure manufacturing and customer requirements are fulfilled, while maximizing inventory turns and minimizing total cost. 1. Issue purchase orders for raw material, component parts and purchase finished goods. 2. Facilitate supplier initiatives to optimize on-time deliveries, pricing, inventory turns and supplier relationships and minimize procurement risks. 3. Maintains the ERP system's planning parameters to optimize inventory levels. 4. Work with Engineering, Marketing and Sales groups on the development of new products and alternate sourcing. Procure materials for evaluation and testing. 5. Occasional domestic supplier visits/audits. 6. Communicate, monitor, and maintain procurement policies and procedures. 7. Keep abreast of new technology and best practices within the procurement arena in order to provide input to the development of department strategies. 8. Other duties as assigned. 1. Minimum of 2 years experience with domestic/international procurement for a make-to-stock manufacturer (Required) 2. Minimum of 2 years experience in utilizing an integrated ERP system for procuring raw materials and purchased finished goods (Required) 3. Highly analytical with a background in cost analysis, inventory management and problem solving of planning parameters on an ERP system (Required) 4. Strong communication skills, capable of dealing with areas of ambiguity. (Required) 5. Solid skill sets in Excel and familiar with creating ad hoc reports (Preferred) 6. Bachelor Degree in business (Preferred) 7. ISM CPSM or CPM, APICS CPIM and Six Sigma knowledge (Preferred) 8. Previous exposure to contract writing (Preferred) 9.
