Individuals will contact households to identify respondents, gain respondent cooperation, and administer an interview and assessment using a company-provided laptop computer. . Westat provides paid training for all job responsibilities and paid time and mileage reimbursement for local driving to and from sampled households. Weekly paychecks with direct deposit available. Qualified candidates must: • Work up to 25 hours per week, primarily evenings and weekends; • Be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, which includes a laptop and interviewing materials, and can climb stairs if needed with or without reasonable accommodations; • Be available to attend an out-of-town paid training for 5 days in mid-August; and • Have use of an insured, reliable car and have a valid driver's license; • Must successfully submit all materials required for a Federally mandated background check prior to training; and • Must live in or within driving distance of assigned work area. One year of work experience is required. Previous interviewing or public contact experience is preferred. It is required that you complete a background check during the hiring process. Work will begin in mid-August and continue through the end of March 2012. This is a part-time, nonexempt position with no benefits. Pay rate is based on area of residency and relevant experience.
