Location: Apollo, PA Summary The Field Chemist/CDL Driver position requires selected individual to solicit customers for new and repeat business, assist in the preparations of project proposals, have the ability to lab pack hazardous and non-hazardous waste, prepare shipments in compliance with DOT/EPA, and establish approvals with disposal facilities. Perform commercial truck-driving/Field Chemist duties. In addition, must be a take charge individual applying knowledge and experience with RCRA and DOT regulations to a diverse nature of emergency response and scheduled environmental work related task. Some overnight travel is required, must have or willing to secure minimum CDL class B license with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements. Must have excellent driving record and clean criminal history along with the ability to pass DEA background clearance. On- call requirements 1/5 weeks 7/24. DEA on call as needed. BS Degree preferred - Chemistry, Engineering, or Related Science. Will consider related experience if non degree. Candidate must have at least 12 months experience in the disciplines outlined below: Proven non-bulk container and lab pack experience. Must have PA Class B CDL license (not limited to "B"). Must be able to follow directions, participate and implement emergency response procedures as required by company and customer needs. Requires the ability to work with others as a team, be flexible in assigned tasks Possess the skills to assess customer's situation and make good business decisions while implementing an action plan. Recognize when to call for assistance. Above average ability to interact with customer and MEI personnel in the best interest of the project. Must be able to select and use proper specialized chemical personal protective equipment. Learn and maintain the ability to understand risk assessment techniques applicable to the job function. Ensure other personnel safety. Perform strenuous activity and work in remote confined spaces. Perform record keeping activities for customer as it pertains to waste management activity such as supply inventory, container inspections, accumulation inventories, lab pack inventory, manifest preparation, LDR's, profiles and interpret analytical reports. Perform waste tracking requirements in a timely and accurate manner. You will have the opportunity to train and build other team members. Conduct toolbox meetings in rotation with other on-site personnel. Oversee and train others in how to conduct shipment preparation and loading activities. Perform the necessary steps to complete labeling, manifesting, and land disposal restriction forms as required. Expert knowledge and ability to perform proper labeling of containers. Expert knowledge to implement proper sampling procedures for analytical testing. Expert knowledge of and ability to perform various material transfers example- pumping. Complete testing with a final grade of 80% or better in DOT/ RCRA knowledge. Possess above average computer skills in Excel, Word, Access and have past experience with waste tracking procedures. Must possess the ability to recognize an urgent need. Willingness and proven ability to learn. Perform other duties as needed for McCutcheon Enterprises.
