Distribution Center Shift Manager - 2nd Shift (Duncansville, PA)

Warnaco Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a talented Distribution Center Shift Manager to join our team. Warnaco's history dates back to 1874. The original company designed, manufactured and sold Warner’s corsets to retailers. Since then, Warnaco has evolved into a global apparel leader which designs, sources, markets, licenses and distributes a broad line of intimate apparel, sportswear and swimwear worldwide. The Company's products are sold under several highly recognized brand names, including, but not limited to, Calvin Klein, Speedo, Chaps, Warner's and Olga.
Responsible for the entire 2nd shift operation of an assigned facility. This position manages the day-to-day activities of product flow from picking through shipping on a shift in a distribution facility employing up to 350 associates. Responsibility includes, but is not limited to; ensuring customer requirements are consistently met or exceeded, maximizing the performance of the facility staff and systems to ensure care, custody and control of the product assigned to that facility while effectively utilizing available resources to remove any barriers to the facility’s success.
* Partnering with the Inventory Control, maintain inventory accuracy.
* Coordinate with freight carriers, production and Customer Service departments.
* Direct and develop a professional, results oriented management team.
* Set standards and implement measurement tools to guide continuous improvement activities.
* Establish and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Implement new technologies, processes and systems.
* Ensure high demand wholesale customers’ expectations are met or exceeded every day.
* Determine staffing necessary to meet freight flow requirements and productivity goals.
* Monitor floor activity and provide a visible presence in the facility.
* Track carrier performance and provide analysis to the Facility Director.
* Evaluate methods for loading/unloading, warehousing and packing to provide cost savings, delivery efficiencies and ensure necessary consistencies between shifts.
* Assist in resolving freight billing discrepancies as required.
* Perform other work related duties as assigned by Facility Director and Senior Distribution Division Executives.
* Evaluated on facility UPH and CPU goals.
* Adhere to customer requirements as detailed in their routing guides resulting in minimal chargebacks.
* Approximately 6 direct reports overseeing up to 125 associates.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
* A four-year degree in a related field plus 5 years senior management experience in a distribution facility; or 7+ years senior distribution management experience.
* Background in apparel, fashion, or related field is highly desirable.
* Experience managing flow in a distribution/warehouse operation with 10+ bay doors, 10,000+ SKU’s, and high turnover of goods.
* Must have worked in a computerized warehouse environment (WMS).
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations.
* Strong reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills.
* Ability to motivate your team and manage conflict within the group.
* Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet required standards of service.
* Ability to rapidly adjust to changing priorities based on business needs.
* Strong documentation and reporting skills.
* Previous union experience a plus.
